Graduate Student Congress: Guidelines for Manuscript Preparation and Submission
General Principles
- All submissions to the Congress will undergo a double-blind peer-review process.
- Submitted papers must be original and unpublished and must not have been submitted for consideration to another academic event or publication.
- Papers may be prepared in Turkish or English.
- If the research has been supported by any institution or project, this information must be indicated in a footnote attached to the title of the paper.
- The full-text manuscript, including references and appendices, must not exceed 12,000 words.
- Manuscript formatting, in-text citations, and references must comply with APA 7th edition guidelines.
- Author information must be provided below the title and must include the institutional affiliation, affiliated institute/faculty (if applicable), and ORCID number.
- The abstract should briefly present the purpose, methodology, scope, and principal findings of the study.

Heading Format
- The main title must be written in 14-point, bold, ALL CAPITAL LETTERS.
- Section headings must be written in 11-point, bold, ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. Section headings must not be numbered.
Turkish and English Abstracts
Turkish Abstract
- The heading “ÖZ” must be written in 11-point bold.
- The abstract must not exceed 400 words.
- The text must be fully justified.
- 3–5 keywords representing the study must be provided.
English Abstract
- The heading “ABSTRACT” must be written in 11-point bold.
- The abstract must not exceed 600 words.
- The text must be fully justified.
- 3–5 keywords must be provided.
Both abstracts should concisely summarize the purpose, methodology, scope, and principal findings of the research.
Main Text
- Papers must be prepared in a single-column format.
- The main text must be written in 11-point Times New Roman, fully justified.
- Unnecessary spacing should not be left between sections.
- Full-text papers, including figures, tables, and appendices, must not exceed 20 pages.
Tables, Figures, and Visual Materials
- Tables, figures, graphs, and other visual materials must be placed at the appropriate locations within the text.
- Titles and captions must be written in 11-point font.
- Table titles must be placed above the respective tables.
- Figure, graph, and visual-material captions must be placed below the respective item.
- Tables, figures, and graphs must be numbered consecutively in the text as “Table 1,” “Figure 1,” and “Graph 1,” respectively.
- Appropriate citations must be provided for all visual materials reproduced or adapted from other sources.
Conclusion
The heading “CONCLUSION” must be written in 11-point, bold, ALL CAPITAL LETTERS, while the text should follow the formatting specifications of the main text.
Citation and Referencing
- The reference list must include only works cited within the text.
- References must be arranged alphabetically by the authors’ surnames.
- All citations and references must comply with APA 7th edition guidelines.
In-Text Citations
- Direct quotations must be presented within quotation marks.
- Quotations exceeding four lines must be presented as block quotations.
- Citations must include the author’s surname, year of publication, and page number where applicable.
- For works with two authors, both authors must be cited.
- For works with three or more authors, the surname of the first author should be followed by the expression “et al.”
- Works by the same author published in the same year must be distinguished as “2024a,” “2024b,” etc.
